Mounting Services
We offer a wide range of mounting options for our vinyl signs to accommodate many different applications. Whether your sign is going to be up for only a few days or for several years of indoor or outdoor usage, we have a mounting solution that will work great for your particular needs. Below we've outlined some of the more common mounting materials and typical applications of those materials.
GatorboardGatorboard is a multi-layer composite board with a core of dense and durable polystyrene that resists crushing and denting. The core is surrounded by layers of plastics, papers, and adhesives to create a moisture resistant layer that helps form a rigid board that won't bend or warp. It's exceptional rigidity, smooth surface quality, and light weight make it the mounting material of choice for virtually any rigid indoor display. Black is our standard color of Gatorbaord. White, natural, and other colors are available if needed.
SintraSintra is a high-density, rigid PVC plastic material that is very versatile and durable. Because it is dent-resistant and will not fade, discolor, or become brittle, it is great choice for both indoor and outdoor applications. Sintra is commonly used for trade show exhibits, permanent commercial signs, and a number or outdoor applications. White is the standard color, with black and a limited number of other colors available on special order.
AluminumWe typically mount to aluminum when the job calls for an extremely rigid surface and requires a high-tech or mechanical feel. Aluminum is most commonly used for construction signs, road signs, and other outdoor signs for businesses such as auto mechanics.
Foam CoreFoam Core is a light styrofoam-cored board between paper facers. Because it is very lightweight, yet durable, and has an extremely smooth surface, it is a great choice for any indoor signage. Foam Core is one of the easeir materials to cut cleanly, which makes it particularly well-suited for oddly shaped signage that has needs intricate cuts.
PolystyrenePolystyrene is a very tough and rigid material that resists dents and cracking. It is well-suited for both indoor and outdoor usage. Unlike most of the other materials, vinyl prints mounted to polystyrene can often be rolled. This property makes it a great choice when portability is important because shipping and handling is much easier. White is our standard color, with red, green, yellow, blue, and gray available through special order.
CoroplastCoroplast is a corrugated plastic mounting board that is lightweight, rigid, and weatherable. There are 4 mil downward flutes that provide rigidity for wind resistance and accept sign stakes nicely. Coroplast is commonly used outdoors for new home promotional signs, yard signs, political signs, golf signs, and exterior directionals, to name just a few.
PlexiglassPlexiglass is commonly used as the mounting material for office signage, point-of-purchase displays, and high-impact backlit displays. The image is printed onto the vinyl and then face-mounted or mounted to the front of the Plexiglass, depending on the look you are going for. Plexiglass is available in several different thicknesses for various applications.
Other Mounting MaterialsThere are virtually an unlimited number of mounting materials available. The ones listed above are several common mounting materials used with vinyl, but they barely scratch the surface of all of the available options.
